You have yet to work in the industry, just wait until you do. You will see that a lot of employers dont care about your credentials. They just want someone to get the job done.
Right, but Iâm talking about security which is the result that everyone wants in the end and a degree accomplishes that. You took exceptions for a rule which is wrong. Now you might be right but I got my point across: âsecurityâ.
At your age with such an opportinity, I would say going to uni is a great choice. You might feel you know what you want to do at your age (or you may not), but a lot can change in your next 4 years. If youâre excited by the prospect of living away, somewhere new then it sounds like youâre ready. A degree is always favourable but as you probably already know, in programming it really doesnât matterâŚits one of the very few fields where you can land a well paid job being completely self taught.
As for the future prospects of the two citiesâŚyouâre more likely to have greater job security and earn more money in the long run going where the work is. Not having to worry about landing gigs is a luxury. Good luck whatever you do.
