This solution from another user may work for you: Trying to set up a html file to practice, but CSS is ignored?

your src and alt attribute both are incorrect. Firstly, quotation mark is missing and secondly, quotation mark should be like that “text” or ‘text’ not ’ ‘text’ ’ like that.
