I have worked in the IT field since 1997. I am mostly self-taught.
My reason for learning to code is probably a little different than most users of the fCC site who are seeking future employment as a programmer or dev.
I’m doing it for fun, knowledge, and the ability to work on personal projects. I want to know how to program on at least a basic level. I fear turning it into a career might take the fun out of it as a hobby.
I believe that learning/knowing how to code enhances my logical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills for whatever other IT related endeavors I might pursue in the future. It’s fun to solve puzzles and learn new things.
Currently in between jobs but I want to continue to learn & grow as a person and not become lazy & stagnant.
I enjoy D.I.Y. projects, learning new things, figuring things out on my own, playing guitar, reading technology articles, blogs, and related info, building and tinkering with computers and video chatting with friends on Discord, Skype, etc.
