the directions say, your button should only have the text “submit”

In addition to what @grantrogers22 said, you have a random " in your code.

Well you can’t complaint that, because you really doesn’t have a text Submit in your button.
You have everything correct, just add the text ( Submit), it should go between
<button type="">place your text here</button>
Also you have an extra character after </button>
