The original code for the text input was:

<input type="text">

You were only supposed to modify the existing input. You created an additional one and changed the type to “cat photo URL” which should have been the value of the placeholder. For the placeholder you put a url, which is incorrect.

#3

Thank you for responding to my question… So take out the word type and put cat url. And which url do I have to put…

#4

No, you were not supposed to change the type attribute at all from it’s original value of “text”, so change it back to "text. The placeholder attribute should be “cat photo URL”.

#5

Ok so just type cat photo url on the placeholder attribute and then what link?

#6

Why do you think there needs to be a link somewhere? The instructions do not say anything about a link.

The only thing you have to do to pass this challenge is put add a placeholder attribute and assign it the string “cat photo URL”. I think you might be misinterpreting “cat photo URL” with add a url to the placeholder attribute.

The “cat photo URL” is just a string value. It could have been “cat name goes here” or anything other string.

Only click here to see the solution if you are still having trouble

There should only be one input (the one the challenge starts with) and it should look like:

<input type="text" placeholder="cat photo URL">

.
