After 1 year of coding with FCC finally I built my portfolio. Feedback Please!

Dear fellow Campers,

Greetings!

Today I completed my portfolio and this is a huge milestone in my coding journey.:blush:
With this, I also got my Responsive Web design certificate  . I am unexplainably happy.:smile:

I request you guys please please please have a look at my Portfolio HERE is the link and provide me with some constructive feedback and inform me about any mistakes you find.

and If you have some time then you could help me solve a problem or two. I will open a separate topic for that.

Till then feel free to look around the portfolio.

Happy Coding!

Thank you very much for the lovely comment @AdrianJ. :slightly_smiling_face:

Its nice, but make from your about down a different color, like maybe a light gray (#ededed) to add some variation.

The contact section & footer looks weird not being 100% of the width, and the black color and gray text is too dark.

Your pixel affect doesn’t work on smaller screens:

(mouse gets hidden during screenshot, but it was in the area)

Overall very nice!

Hi @michaelnicol.

Thanks for your time, suggestions and compliment.:slightly_smiling_face:

I extended the page to full width, added background color (light gray looked good) and changed the font color of the contacts section to light gray too.

Furthermore to the same, please advise do I have to change the background color of the contacts too???

I appreciate your help.

And for the particle effects on the smaller screen: I am working on it and I hope will find a solution soon otherwise I will open a help topic for that.

Thanks again:slightly_smiling_face:

Looks Awesome!
The only thing I would say, and this is nitpicky I know, but I might give it a max width in the content area. I am on a 27" screen and the images look to wide.
I just say this cuz I know you want it perfect! Love the pixel effect!

looks much better, but i also have another small compliant.

The black edges on your project cards look kind of weird and distracting. Not sure what other design you could try though.

Nahh, it looks great. You project is very nice.

Thanks, @jel111
Your advice is welcome.

Actually, the thing is I have never developed on a screen that large. I made it on my laptop and tested it on my phone. I was so happy with the results on these two screens that I forgot there are bigger screens too :yum: :yum: :joy: :joy:   .

Will rectify it. :slightly_smiling_face:

One more thing guys I created this pixel effect with particle.js. That’s not my own creation I just modified it to my taste.

Credit goes to Vincent garreau.

Hi there,

Great look to the site so well done on that

I would suggest you consider changing “Do you have a project to discuss for?” to “Do you have a project you want to discuss?” (no need for “for”) and “Let’s have a talk.” to “Let’s have a chat.” or just “Let’s talk”.

Congratulations also on the certificate!

Or maybe “Do you have a project you would like to discuss?”
I’m not a language guy by any means and I wonder what is grammatically correct.

Thank you @MazontheMoon.

I changed’em. :slightly_smiling_face:

So am I.

Thanks for the help. :slightly_smiling_face:

I would add padding-top: 80px; to #about, #projects and #contact sections in order to make also visible each section-title. Now you have for the about section a padding-top of only 40px and when you navigate to the section using the navbar links the section title goes under the navbar.

First off, really good job. Here are a couple of thoughts.

  • You have stretched the images in your Projects section. It looks pretty bad and I would use the original sizes or crop them in a photo editor.

I hope this helps you.

Hi @geekysmurf,

Thank you for the review.

I tried to fix it. for that, along with the width in percentage, I applied a max-width so that it does not stretch width the width of larger screens.

However, I am not sure it fixed the problem or not.

Please advise if anything better can be done.

Thanks again

Hi @sorinr

Thanks for the comment.

I fixed it and I welcome any other suggestion to make it better, anytime.

Thanks again.
