Basic JavaScript - Profile Lookup

Hello!

if(contacts[i][name] === name && contacts[i].hasOwnProperty(prop))

You are comparing an array of “name” with “name”.
You however want to check if “name” is equal to one of the keys in the objects (like firstName). Remember how to access that key (hint: " . ")

You are returning “no such contact” for just one contact at the moment. You have to move the return statement outside the loop so it checks all of them.

i really appreciate sir for ur qick response,and i changed as u said…but it didnt work…

Can you show the refactored code?

just got it sir…thq so muchhhh…
function lookUpProfile(name, prop)
{

//const prop1 =prop.replaceAll(“"”,“"”)
// Only change code below this line
for(let i=0;i<contacts.length;i++)
{

if(contacts[i].firstName === name && contacts[i].hasOwnProperty(prop))
{
return contacts[i][prop];
}
else if (contacts[i].firstName === name && (contacts[i].hasOwnProperty(prop)=== false))
{

return “No such property”;
}

}
return “No such contact”;
// Only change code above this line
}

lookUpProfile(“Akira”, “likes”);
