hello guys it’s me again. What am i doing wrong?
Your code so far

// Setup
const recordCollection = {
  2548: {
    albumTitle: 'Slippery When Wet',
    artist: 'Bon Jovi',
    tracks: ['Let It Rock', 'You Give Love a Bad Name']
  },
  2468: {
    albumTitle: '1999',
    artist: 'Prince',
    tracks: ['1999', 'Little Red Corvette']
  },
  1245: {
    artist: 'Robert Palmer',
    tracks: []
  },
  5439: {
    albumTitle: 'ABBA Gold'
  }
};

// Only change code below this line
function updateRecords(object, id, prop, value) {
  if (prop !== 'tracks' && value !== '' ) {
    object[id][prop] = value;
  } else if (prop === 'tracks' && object[id].hasOwnProperty) {
    object[id][prop] = [value];
  } else if (prop === 'tracks' && value !== '') {
    object[id][prop].push(value);
  } else if (value === '') {
    delete object[id][prop]
  }
  return object;
}

updateRecords(recordCollection, 5439, 'artist', 'ABBA');

Challenge: Basic JavaScript - Record Collection

Link to the challenge:

For the test of updateRecords(recordCollection, 2468, "tracks", "Free"), you are replacing the existing tracks array with a new array that looks like: ["Free"] instead of adding "Free" as a new element to the end of the tracks array.

my code look like this : “function updateRecords(object, id, prop, value) {
if (prop !== ‘tracks’ && value !== ‘’ ) {
object[id][prop] = value;
} else if (prop === ‘tracks’ && object[id].hasOwnProperty === ‘’) {
object[id][prop] = [value];
} else if (prop === ‘tracks’ && value !== ‘’) {
object[id][prop].push(value);
} else if (value === ‘’) {
delete object[id][prop]
}
return object;
}” but " After updateRecords(recordCollection, 5439, "tracks", "Take a Chance on Me") , tracks should have the string Take a Chance on Me as the last and only element. "

I already looked at your code. I am told you why the one test is failing. You will need to adjust your logic. You also need to adjust your logic to correctly handle the case you reference above.

Where is your logic to handle the case when prop is equal to tracks, value is not an empty string, and there is not a tracks property already in the object?
