You should think hard before copying others’ answers
This is what i figure it out the right answer
You shouldn’t use the subject variable as a const use it instead as a let, and then reassign it to the lastCharacter variable with the length parameter

Welcome to the forum @nblamine,

You are hard coding the index of the last character in subject, which makes your code very inflexible.

What if your subject variable was assigned to “Python”? Would your code work for that?

Please review the instructions in this step again about how you can use the variable’s length property to access the index of the last letter in any string assigned to a variable.
