Build Five Programs - Build Five Programs

Tell us what’s happening:

I have tried completing this course dozens of times. It quits working at random spots.
Can you break this one into 5 different assignments so we can complete this part?

Welcome back to the forum @jripke74

There may be a connection issue causing the environment to freeze.

I’ve had to restart or reset courses multiple times. You’ll get better at coding, and faster too - the more times you retake a course.

Check your upload and download rates, and when the connection issues occur.

Early in the morning usually had the fewest problems.

Happy coding

I don’t mind taking it over and over again. I am at the point where I have memorized a good portion of it. LOL

can you provide more details about what you meant by “it quits working”?
(for eg. how do you know it quit working? What errors or messages do you see and when?)

No errors at all, it stops passing the tasks. I restarted the codespace, and the same thing happened. I have to start all over.

can you explain some more what you mean by 'it stops passing the tasks"?
Which specific task and how do you know that it stops working there? (please provide more details to help us understand what you’re experiencing)

If you want, a screenshot may help us understand further.

It stops passing the steps, tasks, or whatever is required to pass to complete the workshop. But I will take a screenshot next time it happens.

Does not pass, looks correct to me.

disregard that, echo command needed to be in if statement.

I did complete it but what I found, you have to do it unit it is done. if you take a break and come back to it, it will not work.

Ok. So without a real example, we can’t know for sure what is happening. It may be that you’re mistaken in some way.

But, just in case, if you hit this again and you are sure you are correct, I suggest clicking the Reset button and waiting for the environment to reset (do not touch anything while it does that). You can close the terminal and reopen it after that and try again.

If you’re still stuck after that, I really do strongly suggest that you ask someone for help here (with a screenshot included) as more often than you can imagine, people are genuinely mistaken.

The solution is to spend at 2 hours until finished, without a break. If you take a break it stops working.

it really doesn’t. But you do you.

It really does. And so do the other exercises in this section. Maybe it is just me having these troubles. Either way I glad I was able to pass them and look forward to doing the rest. Thanks for your help.
