Tell us what’s happening:
Hello,
I am pursuing the relational databases course, and I am having trouble accessing Gitpod workspaces. When I ‘start’ the course, instead of the window with different panes and a hamburger menu, I am taken to a terminal window with the prompt “camper:/projects”, as shown.
I encountered the same problem from the beginning, and have been getting lucky in fixing it. My network is fine, I have tried several solutions, no dice.
Kindly assist.

Is this a terminal in your VScode browser on gitpod, or is it a terminal outside the VM?
I appreciate your response.
It is a terminal is my VScode browser on gitpod.
What gets me confused here is that I can’t see anything that looks like an editor here, have you tried opening the course in a different browser, preferably Chrome.
and have you tried logging into gitpod using their url and not from freecodecamp.
you should try these things.
And just to confirm, what you clicked that brought you to the terminal is Start the Course
right?
What I mean to say is, instead of opening the VScode window, it opens this terminal-looking page.
Yes, I have tried launching from the gitpod dashboard, and tried different browsers, and still not working.
I used the ‘Start the Course’ and directly from github using a gitpod extension… both methods don’t work.
@moT01. @hbar1st or anyone else, a liltle attention here pls, thank you.
What did you try?
Do you use a VPN?
Did you try a browser with no extensions installed?
I do not use a VPN.
I tried connecting to a different network, I also tried using a browser with extensions disabled.
Can you please describe this part in a bit more detail?
I mean I tried connecting to different wifi networks… home, office, mobile hotspot…
Did you disable this ad blocker and all other extensions?
I did, still did not work.
…also, someone from Gitpod just responded, “Running a VM inside Gitpod workspaces is not a optimal solution,” and asked for the course link. Will update on how what he advises.
I have been successful, I hope that it is not temporary.
I launched Gitpod workspaces, used the New Workspace button, pasted the repo url… it worked. I had unsuccessfully tried this several times earlier… I am, however, playing the same music I was when it was working last week, maybe that’s the fix ha ha ha
Will update what the guy from Gitpod says…
I very much appreciate the assistance.
