I’m trying to figure out why this isn’t right. It seems silly but the only thing I can see is that the - when I type it looks slightly different than the - that’s was already there as an example and I have no clue why.

Not sure if you can tell, but the two characters before the > after the </h1> tag are not the same as the two characters after the <!--

Make sure you are using normal dashes like -- and not like -—

You have the same problem before the <p>Kitty ipsum .......
