Concantenating strings with plus equal operator

Hie guys kindly help me with the following issue:
The bellow is the error im receiving after running my code below that

myStr should have a value of This is the first sentence. This is the second sentence.

My code so far

var myStr = " This is the first sentence.";

myStr += " This is the second sentence.";

console.log(myStr)
