Counting card challenge

I tried all of your solutions, writing the exact same code you use but it does not work, perhaps JS is outdated?

Your code so far
My code is:
switch(card) {

case 2:

case 3:

case 4:

case 5:

case 6:

count++;

break;

case 10:

case ‘J’:

case ‘Q’:

case ‘K’:

case ‘A’:

count–;

break;

}

if (count > 0){

return count + ‘Bet’;

} else {

return count + ‘Hold’;

}

var count = 0;

function cc(card) {
 // Only change code below this line
switch(card) {

case 2:
case 3:
case 4:
case 5:
case 6:
count++;
break;
case 10:
case 'J':
case 'Q':
case 'K':
case 'A':
count--;
break;
}

if (count > 0){
 return count + 'Bet';
} else {
 return count + 'Hold';
}

 // Only change code above this line
}

cc(2); cc(3); cc(4); cc('A'); cc('6');

Challenge: Counting Cards

Link to the challenge:

Hey @Karem1986,

Everything looks fine in your code except one tiny thing. You forgot to leave space between count and "Bet" & "Hold".

The challenge is asking you to return count + " Bet" or count + " Hold".

So, please add space before “Hold” and “Bet”, it will pass the test.

Cheers.

Thank you yigit! but how do I add space?
I am trying to add space in the conventional way
so space before Hold and Bet but still does not pass the test :frowning:

Here is your code:

if (count > 0){
 return count + 'Bet';
} else {
 return count + 'Hold';
}

Here is the return code with space:

if (count > 0){
 return count + ' Bet';
} else {
 return count + ' Hold';
}

Oh Yigit! I added space after the ’ symbol and nod is working
if (count > 0){

return count + ’ Bet’;

} else {

return count + ’ Hold’;

}
Oh i feel so dummb now hahaha Thanks!

Yes, I realized that is after the ’

I copied this code from the solution but i dont understand this challenge to be honest is very difficult to figure out by myself

More than welcome.

Yeah, It’s a little bit difficult at the beginning.

Keep rocking; you will get used to it.

Cheers,
Yigit
