I like GitLab’s guide to asychronous communication. I think that one of the weak points of software teams is a failure to recognize the difference between asynchronous and synchronous communication. Tools like Slack aren’t really async. If you’ve ever come back to a slack channel or discord server after time away, you know that it is very difficult to catch up on what you missed.
