English course for other languages

Yesterday I wanted to assist someone struggling with the English learning section, only the problem is that thread was completely written in Spanish except for the phrase team lead.

I wasn’t nearly bilingual enough to try to ask how they were typing the phrase, though I had a few ideas.

I had hoped there was a way moderation could send it to Spanish subsection of “Learning English for professionals” , but apparently that category doesn’t exist.

This brings us to the point of my post.

I think that something needs to change about the content.

I’m not familiar with teaching English as a second language, nor will I pretend to. But it might be wise to consider how the language generally operates when translating the section.

Not every language has adjectives followed by subject for example.

Additionally it might be useful to create subcategories in the foreign language categories for the English curriculum so that bilingual speakers can help handle the threads that aren’t written in English with the exception of phrases like “team lead”.

What are everyone else’s thoughts on this?

up to now, new sections have been added when the corresponding part of the curriculum was translated. English for Developers is new, so the translations have just started.

A topic written in a different language can still be moved to the related subforum, but if there isn’t a subsection for that, it should go in the general subforum for that language. So Español in this case.
