Well… You are great!
I am a newbie and just finished my portfolio. I had an issues with grid system and responsive design. I was excited to finish the portfolio, with a lot of questions, but still happy. And then Javascript - “NOOO, Im not ready!!!” - haha.
Today I am starting beta.
The new FCC is here finally !
The line on the new certificate that goes like this seem unnecessarily convoluted :
1 of 6 freeCdeCamp certifications, representing approximately 300 hours of coursework
isn’t it a bit odd to put the number of certificates available on the new finished certificate like an ad? Probably that first part should go to instead highlight the 300 hours of coursework.
When I went to college, I’m sure there were hundreds of certificates available too, but on the certificate I earned it’s shown as just the one I passed, not how many were available
As the number of certificates decreases or grows, it’s not a matter for the certificate to quantify. It’s about the person who earned it. They are your brand awareness ambassadors, not the certificate itself.
Let’s keep the focus on their achievement.
Cheers
EDIT: Also 1/6 in any context I’m sure can find a way to be taken out of context! Especially when HR is involved. They might think you’re not done yet, which undermines your achievement
Yeah I’m worried about that too. 1/6 in any context I’m sure can find a way to be taken out of context! Especially when HR is involved. They might think you’re not done yet
Quick question: Do we, now with new curriculum, have to complete everything other than projects in order to get certification ?
Just curious
No, you will only need the projects and some algorithms. Go to https://www.freecodecamp.org/settings and scroll down to Certification Settings to see what you need to do for each certificate.
Hi @BenGitter
That’s exactly what I did and it is not letting me claim API certification yet I have finished all projects required for certification.
My legacy solutions are disappear. Is it passable to see them again?
all your legacy solutions?
Yes. I am preparing coding interview, it will be helpful if I can review them again.
@Art365 @walter Thanks for pointing this out. I 100% agree and have updated the copy on the certs (it’s currently in this pull request, but should be merged and deployed in the next day or two).
You’re very welcome
Sure thing! Glad it’s getting fixed.
I don’t really understand how you apply for a certificate? For example I have 5 projects on “Javascript Algorithms And Data Structures Certification” section completed. How do i get the certificate? In the old version we had “apply for certificate”. How do I do it now?
Go to https://www.freecodecamp.org/settings 20 and scroll down to Certification Settings to see what you need to do for each certificate.
Thank you very much! I did not even think to look there!
Hello. https://www.freecodecamp.org/settings doesn’t seem to be working. Is there any process I must go through to get a certificate once I’ve completed the required projects, or are the certificates awarded automatically?
Go to settings.
Accept the academic policy.
Submit all of the project urls.
Claim certificate.
Ah, I was trying to get to the page using Safari. Able to see it now. Thanks!
