Tell us what’s happening:
Why does the user parameter get recognized but when I try to replicate the map function my arg parameter doesnt get recognized and gives me an error.

The “,” in the code marks the end of the arrow function and so arg[“imdbRating”] is not within the function and doesn’t see “arg”

You need to construct a new object as the return from the arrow function.

So I’d have to use one map function just to add the titles of a rating to one variable and then another map function to add the ratings to the same variable?

No you want to return from your map function a new object.

watchList.map((arg) => ({Title: arg[“Title”], imdbRating: arg[“imdbRating”]})

The () are needed around the {} to not confuse the arrow function.

Ahh thank you I get it now, but why do we need additional brackets around the object brackets?

If you don’t have them

watchList.map((arg) => {Title: arg[“Title”], imdbRating: arg[“imdbRating”]}

Then this treats this the {} as code brackets and not object brackets.

Then it would need to look like this:

watchList.map((arg) => {
return {Title: arg[“Title”], imdbRating: arg[“imdbRating”]};
}
