Giving background-color to a div element

i already gave the div element a silver background-color as required but the error is saying “your div element background should be silver”

I suggest you restart the challenge, then there should be one div only. Then give that the class of “silver-background”

You’ve only completed the one part of the problem. The second part was to Assign the class to the div element.
It will look like this <div class="silver-background">

It seems that you have added a div of your own making to the contents of the challenge.

While your solution is perfectly fine, the challenge is actually checking whether you applied the class to the div which they have provided, which is this one:
