Does anyone know how to report an issue to the freeCodeCamp team?
Issue / feedback summary - the GitPod courses seem to be very buggy, complex to setup (at least the one I tried), and the tokens for GitPod can easily rack up. The complexity, buggyness and cost undermine accessibility to freeCodeCamp and mean you spent a lot of time trying to bug fix the learning environment vs learning specific tasks.
Background - I tried to do the Learn relational DB course using Gitpod & VS code mac. Stopped working (see my trouble shooting steps here)
I unblocked myself running the lessons locally via docker (instructions here)
The issue with docker local setup is no progress synced to my freeCodeCamp profile.
It also seems a bit unclear how to add either my docker local projects / gitPod local projects to my Github (instructiuons on this are confusing).
I also read the github issues for freeCodeCamp to see if I could raise something there but my feedback / guidance didn’t fit in their guidelines / requirements.
It’s not necessarily a blocker to learning, but introduces a lot of friction and time overhead that eats away at learning time so wanted to flag in case it impacts others.
If anyone knows the appropriate mechanism to raise this please let me know.
If anyone might be able to know how to solve my issue of running GitPod (or even if theres a way to do the courses locally via docker, but sync that progress to my freeCodeCamp, without needing GitPod please let me know.
Thanks.
