Challenge: Attach a Fallback value to a CSS Variable

Link to the challenge:

I changed penguin to pengiun and the test passed. Not a very good lesson.

Hello~!

The two lines where you are supposed to add the fallback value… there are typos present in the original code that you appear to have corrected. You need to leave the typos as is, so the code loads the fallback value instead.

The code of concern is:

  .penguin-top {
    top: 10%;
    left: 25%;

    /* Change code below this line */
    background: var(--pengiun-skin);
    /* Change code above this line */

    width: 50%;
    height: 45%;
    border-radius: 70% 70% 60% 60%;
  }

  .penguin-bottom {
    top: 40%;
    left: 23.5%;

    /* Change code below this line */
    background: var(--pengiun-skin);
    /* Change code above this line */

    width: 53%;
    height: 45%;
    border-radius: 70% 70% 100% 100%;
  }

The instructions state to add a fallback value for both .penguin-top and .penguin-bottom. If you notice carefully within the two classes mentioned, background: var(--pengiun-skin); has a typo.

If you scroll to the top of the CSS section, you’ll notice --penguin-skin: black; under the .penguin class. The spelling is correct while the spelling in .penguin-top and .penguin-bottom are spelled as pengiun-skin which is incorrectly spelt.

The example of how a fallback works is shown below:
background: var(--penguin-skin, black);

Your task is to add the fallback to the code indicated and nothing else. Fixing the spelling defeats the purpose of this assignment.

The challenge says:

Rather than fix the typo, add a fallback value of black
