Challenge: Link to Internal Sections of a Page with Anchor Elements

Link to the challenge:

Hi!

You need to change the anchor tag href attribute value(that is http://freecatphotoapp.com) to an id (that is #footer).

This id (#footer) should be declared in the footer tag.

Its okay in the beginning it all seems a little weird, actually external links will forward your page to to another page while internal links will be relayed in your page(here to your footer).the code should be :
changing your Jump to bottom
hence you will be directed to the footer of the page.Hope this helps.

a href = “#footer” > jump to bottom /a (put the <> arrows accordingly.)

So you’re saying I should change the anchor tag href thing to a “#footer”, correct?

Thanks! That helped a lot, but where am I supposed to put this? Should I make a new line and then write this?

Yes. You are correct.

Then, In footer tag declare id with the name footer.

no, just change the anchor tag present already (and don’t forget to remove the Target = “_blank” its not necessary at all )

Thanks for the help! But apparently I got one wrong and it is saying this, " The a tag should have an href attribute set to “#footer”. The footer tag should have an id attribute set to “footer”.

yes of course, change your < footer > to < footer id = “footer” >

I tried changing that, but instead of it working, it just said that I was doing it wrong and marked " The a tag should have an href attribute set to “#footer”." wrong. Do you know what is happening?

a href="#footer">Jump to Bottom /a>
footer id = “footer”>Copyright Cat Photo App /footer>

that’s all you have to do!

<a href="#footer">Jump to Bottom </a>
<footer id = "footer">Copyright Cat Photo App</footer>

Thanks! Appreciate it a lot!

It is great that you solved the challenge, but instead of posting your full working solution, it is best to stay focused on answering the original poster’s question(s) and help guide them with hints and suggestions to solve their own issues with the challenge.

We are trying to cut back on the number of spoiler solutions found on the forum and instead focus on helping other campers with their questions and definitely not posting full working solutions.

Thank you for understanding.

Hello curby105,

I suggest you use the link above to learn more about the anchor tag. This tag is always used in HTML and would be in your best interest to understand how it’s used.

Note: We are all here to grasp an understanding of how things work not just to pass the tests.
Happy Coding.
