Import a Google Font - Overriding Class?

Tell us what’s happening:

I’m confused as to why linking the Google Font overrides the red-text class. I’ve just started out learning the basics but I can’t work out why this is happening. An explanation would be much appreciated!

Your code so far

  <link href="" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">

  .red-text {
    color: red;

  p {
    font-size: 16px;
    font-family: monospace;

  .lobster {
    font-family: Lobster;

<h2 class="lobster">CatPhotoApp</h2>
  <p class="red-text">Click here to view more <a href="#">cat photos</a>.</p>
  <a href="#"><img src="" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back."></a>
    <p>Things cats love:</p>
      <li>cat nip</li>
      <li>laser pointers</li>
    <p>Top 3 things cats hate:</p>
      <li>flea treatment</li>
      <li>other cats</li>
  <form action="/submit-cat-photo">
    <label><input type="radio" name="indoor-outdoor" checked> Indoor</label>
    <label><input type="radio" name="indoor-outdoor"> Outdoor</label><br>
    <label><input type="checkbox" name="personality" checked> Loving</label>
    <label><input type="checkbox" name="personality"> Lazy</label>
    <label><input type="checkbox" name="personality"> Energetic</label><br>
    <input type="text" placeholder="cat photo URL" required>
    <button type="submit">Submit</button>

Link to the challenge:

<link href="" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">; should be outside of the style tag. That’s it.
