When I was in college, I took a class that was dedicated to working with a startup on a piece of software. I wasn’t paid and wasn’t necessarily “hired” but I did work with a team of students + stakeholders and made an impact on the company.
My question is: should I put this on my resume/linkedin as work experience or a project?
Not sure if it counts as actual work experience, but it does count as experience. It sounds like the same experience an internship might provide.
Sure. It sounds somewhat similar to an internship or co-op, so just identify your role appropriately.
Yes! This is a plus point. I have conducted a lot interviews, and it sucks when students don’t have experiences with personal/team projects, just the basics from their University or what not. This is a good thing!
