You link a label to a select (or any type of input) using for attribute on the label. You did this with the labels and inputs in the lists above the select. You get the pick the id you want to use.

“give the select element a name attribute.”

You add a name attribute to the select just like you added name attributes to the inputs in the lists above. Again, you get to pick the name.
