I have been stuck on this step for days. I keep getting the same error messages. “You function should increment the counts properly.” Please give me suggestions.

You have a syntax error message in the console.

SyntaxError: unknown: Missing semicolon. (18:19)

I have still not found what the problem is. No matter how I format the function, I get the message “you still need to increment the counter properly”.

The first part of the problem is the syntax error.

The closing round brace after the el variable is where the .forEach() method stops. Anything after that round brace will be a syntax error.

The > is indicating the issue is with line 18
The ^ is showing where in line 18 the issue is.

(18:19) is JavaScript saying I encountered a problem with line 18 and the character at position 19.

Try moving the closing round brace to the end of the expression.
