I’m so confused here! I need help I’ve done my best but it keeps saying : You should have an h1 selector in your style element.

you have exampe of selector in the instruction

element {
 property: value;
}

you do not need angle brackets when you write selector, instead of element you just simply type h1, p or whatever element you need

Tags are not required for element selectors in CSS.
Remove the tags and your code will work.

Also, CSS uses the American spelling of center, not the British spelling.
