Tell us what’s happening:
I’ve tried every combination of ways to write this I can think of ( separate style tags, all one css rule, separate rules, one line, multiple lines, and other ways.) It works perfectly when rendered but I still get a failed error : " You should not add a new style tag. Add the new CSS rules to the existing style tag." I’m confused because I only used one style tag. Help would be much appreciated.

You may be running extensions that are interfering with the test suite.

I run into issues like this almost daily on FCC. Usually if the correct answer doesn’t trigger successful completion, I reset the tutorial, reset the terminal, try in another browser or try again in 30 or so mins.

Yes it was an extension thank you! (It was the dark reader extension if anyone has this issue in the future)

Ah, dark mode extensions work by modifying CSS, so they often interfere with our CSS based tests.
