I can see where the confusion is here. The instructions could perhaps be explained a little better. The example:

/* comment here */

Is trying to tell you that comments start with /* and end with */ and then you put the actual text of the comment in between those two. So comment here could be anything, it doesn’t have to be comment here.

To “comment out” something means to wrap it in /* and */ so that it becomes a comment and not actual code.

Does that give you enough to solve this step?
