To make the footer links the same color regardless if a link has been visited, use a type selector for the anchor element (a ) and use the value black for the color property.

No matter where I add the a, I cannot get passed this step.

Where are you adding the a selector? I don’t see it anywhere in your CSS.

remove the comma from the the footer selector , it is not supposed to be there.

Just add an entirely new selector for the “a” element
