Learn Basic JavaScript by Building a Role Playing Game - Step 16

Tell us what’s happening:

Hi, can someone help me or tell what I did wrong with this step?
I created 3 span elements with the class stat and the the need strings in the asked div.
For some reason my code is not correct.

The hint says " Your first .stat element should have the provided text XP: 0" .

Your code so far

<!-- file: index.html -->
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="./styles.css">
    <title>RPG - Dragon Repeller</title>
    <script src="./script.js"></script>
  </head>

<!-- User Editable Region -->

  <body>
    <div id="game">
      <div id="stats">
        <span stat="XP: 0"></span>
        <span stat="Health: 100"></span>
        <span stat="Gold: 50"></span>
      </div>
      <div id="controls"></div>
      <div id="monsterStats"></div>
      <div id="text"></div>
    </div>
  </body>

<!-- User Editable Region -->

</html>
/* file: script.js */
let xp = 0;
let health = 100;
let gold = 50;
let currentWeapon = 0;
let fighting;
let monsterHealth;
let inventory = ["stick"];

Welcome to the forum @mioknice97

Your code is not quite right.

The attribute property name is class
The attribute value is stat
The text needs to go between the span elements.

Happy coding

Ooh… I see now, I totally misunderstood the text.
Now I feel really dumb :man_facepalming:

Thank you!
