Learn Basic JavaScript by Building a Role Playing Game - Step 83
Hi everyone!
Please am currently having an issue in my code. I don’t really understand what I am to do here .
My code below:
function buyWeapon() {
if (gold >= 30) {
gold -= 30;
weapons.name[1];
}
}
Oh, no! I think you are going to die in the game if you cannot buy weapons. (I am joking). What step are you in, 84, 85?
Ah, I see step 83 in the challenge information.
The requirements is:
The value of the currentWeapon variable corresponds to an index in the weapons array. The player starts with a "stick", since currentWeapon starts at 0 and weapons[0] is the "stick" weapon.
In the buyWeapon function, use compound assignment to add 1 to currentWeapon - the user is buying the next weapon in the weapons array.
A compound assignment would be something like:
variable_name += 1;
You add (compound) to the current variable by using the += short hand operator.

You’re too much… Thank you so much Boss
I think the code primarily examines the understanding of array indexing and the usage of += . It appears to aim to modify the value of an array index through incrementation, in order to alter the value of the object within the array.

It is great that you solved the challenge, but instead of posting your full working solution, it is best to stay focused on answering the original poster’s question(s) and help guide them with hints and suggestions to solve their own issues with the challenge.
We are trying to cut back on the number of spoiler solutions found on the forum and instead focus on helping other campers with their questions and definitely not posting full working solutions.
