Learn CSS Colors by Building a Set of Colored Markers - Step 14

Tell us what’s happening:
I understand the intructions are asking me to put two more div’s with class=“marker” within the first div where class=“container” but I’m not sure what that entails when it comes to the actual coding. I’ve also tried:

<div class="container" <div class="marker"> <div class="marker"</div>
  <div class="marker"></div></div></div>

quite literally putting the two new div’s inside the first. Please help!

Your code so far

<!-- User Editable Region -->

    <div class="container"></div>
      <div class="marker"></div>

      <div class="marker"></div>

/* file: styles.css */

.marker {

Link to the challenge:

Welcome to the community!

< div class=“container”>
< div class=“marker”>
< /div>
< /div>

is what you are provided with at the beginning of the Step.
You are so close to correct with your code.

But, you made a change that should not have been made.

Suggestion: Place the closing div for the div container at the bottom to nest the three marker divs.

Happy coding.

Oh wow… HAHA. I’ve been staring at my incorrect code for so long I must’ve gotten blind to the error that was right there. Thanks so much, I really appreciate your help!! :smiling_face:

Often very little, or nothing, needs to be changed in the step. Usually, it is just a case of adding the code.
Good going.
Happy coding! :slight_smile:
