Learn CSS Colors by Building a Set of Colored Markers - Step 14

Tell us what’s happening:

Describe your issue in detail here.
I can’t seem to get it, it is telling me to " In the container div , add two more div elements and give them each a class of marker ." and I think I’m doing it the way it’s telling me but apparently not. So how am I supposed to do it? BTW the problem is in the HTML folder.

Your code so far

<!-- file: index.html -->
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
  <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0">
    <title>Colored Markers</title>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="styles.css">
  </head>
  <body>
    <h1>CSS Color Markers</h1>

<!-- User Editable Region -->

    <div class="container">
      <div class="marker">
        <div class="marker">
          <div class="marker">
          </div>
        </div>
      </div>
    </div>

<!-- User Editable Region -->

  </body>
</html>
/* file: styles.css */
h1 {
  text-align: center;
}

.marker {
  width: 200px;
  height: 25px;
  background-color: red;
  margin: auto;
}

Hi there and welcome to our community!

The issue is with the way your div elements are nested inside each other.
There should be three .marker div elements nested separately within the .container div.
I’ve marked up your code to show you how the opening/closing tags pair up, showing that you’ve nested elements within elements within elements.
The other markings (bottom right) indicate how the tags should pair up.

I hope that makes sense!
