I am unable to understand where I am making mistake in adding the property “transparent” I have different ways but could not find the solution. please help to fix it!

If you want to have multiple colour stops, you need to format your code as per this example:

/* like this */
var(--color1) 10% 20%, 
var(--color2) 20% 30%,
etc...

/* not like this */
var(--color1) 10%, var(--color1) 20%, 
var(--color2) 20%, var(--color2) 30%,
etc...
