Let’s look at how you write css variables again. You use the phrase ‘var’, open rounded brackets then put the variable name. Just like in the below code:

background-color: var(--building-color1);

Now, lets look at how you have written the css variables for the linear-gradient.

 background: linear-gradient(--building-color1, --window-color1);

Have the variables been written correctly here?

You are missing the var function.
Every time you reference a variable you need to use that var function (see example on previous line)

You need the property of var in order to connect to the root just like the other steps you’ve done

but how do i position my linear-gradient?

The linear gradient is fine. Just fix the color references…
