Learn Form Validation by Building a Calorie Counter - Step 54

Tell us what’s happening:

Not exactly sure what I’m doing wrong here or what i’m missing. The .innerHTML method for targetInputContainer has been replaced with .insertAdjacentHTML() per the instructions, at least that’s what I’m understanding. Thx for the help in advance.

Your code so far

<!-- file: index.html -->

/* file: styles.css */

/* file: script.js */
// User Editable Region

function addEntry() {
  const targetInputContainer = document.querySelector(`#${entryDropdown.value} .input-container`);
  const entryNumber = targetInputContainer.querySelectorAll('input[type="text"]').length + 1;
  const HTMLString = `
  <label for="${entryDropdown.value}-${entryNumber}-name">Entry ${entryNumber} Name</label>
  <input type="text" id="${entryDropdown.value}-${entryNumber}-name" placeholder="Name" />
  <label for="${entryDropdown.value}-${entryNumber}-calories">Entry ${entryNumber} Calories</label>
  <input
    type="number"
    min="0"
    id="${entryDropdown.value}-${entryNumber}-calories"
    placeholder="Calories"
  />`;
  targetInputContainer.insertAdjacentHTML() += HTMLString;
}
