up to this I cannot really understand evalFormula and update functions. so I just want to know will it get clearer in the next steps or
in the following projects?

let me find out about your background knowledge first though.
Have you ever used a spreadsheet before or a spreadsheet formula like =SUM(A1,A3)?

no i have not used it

okay then this project will be hard to understand at any point.
If you want to understand the code, you will need to understand the ‘function’ of the code which means you need to know something about how spreadsheets work.

It is up to you how to proceed. You can google spreadsheets and their formulas to understand or you can just do this project without much understanding and/or skip it.
