i was reading another forum because i was stumped at this one and i did it the way someone had explained it so maybe i am missing somthing or misunderstood entirely

You added the type attribute correctly, but why did you add another input?

Oops, I missed this. You reversed them. The name of the attribute should be on the left side of the equals sign. The value of the attribute is on the right.

its there everytime i reset so i assumed it had been part of the last step

Hey, it should be the other way round:
type is the attribute, text is the value.
Also, input is a self-closing tag.

Yes, it is part of the step. That is the input you are supposed to add the type text to. You don’t need to add a new input. You use the one that is already there.

im not sure why but yes the input was a glitch or somthing but i erased it fixed my error and it worked thanks everyone :grinning:
