It keeps on saying that my button element should have an opening tag . What have I done wrong?

If you look at the colours of your code in this post, you can see the opening tag of your <button> is all one colour.

In the freeCodeCamp editor the opening tag is a brighter blue than the closing tag

This is because your button element is between the < and > of the input element

Try moving your button element to the line beneath the input element.

NOTE:
In the above code <tag>Text</tag> is an example of where your button should be.
