Make the first radio button and the first checkbox selected by default.

You’re missing something. Take another look at this instruction.

There’s no need to set a value to the checked attribute. Instead, just add the word checked to the input element, making sure there is space between it and other attributes.

Those are the instructions but wherever I put the checked it causes an error.

Look at your radio input element. You have it there. So, based on that and the example, where do you think you should put it in the checkbox input element?

The first checkbox is missing the checked attribute, it is telling me checkbox when I am trying to apply it to a radio.

You applied the checked attribute to the first radio input.
You need to do the same thing to the first checkbox input.
