I am at the step where you add the declaration and I did it as it is instructed, but it says that the code is wrong , and that the declaration should be at the top and that’s what I did, but still found no luck so I hope someone can point out my mistake and guide me.(also this is my first time writing this kind of stuff so if I made a mistake I hope you will overlook it… )

When posting to the forum it is best to write your code directly into the forum with the challenge link so people can best assist you.
I edited your post to include the challenge link.
When I open up the challenge link, I noticed that you deleted the original first line of code.
Reset the lesson and make sure not to delete anything.
You should add the doctype above the existing code.
