Challenge: Learn HTML Forms by Building a Registration Form - Step 53

Link to the challenge:

its saying that I should " give the input and textarea elements a 1px , solid border with a color of #0a0a23 ."

and this is my code so far input,textarea{background-color:#0a0a23; solid:1px#0a0a23;}

Here you have two elements as selectors: input and textarea. They have ‘background-color’ and ‘border’ properties respectively. You did right with first property, but second is ‘border’ and it has three values, separated with blank spaces:

border: 'width in px' 'type of line' 'color of the border';

just brought my attention the description might look different to what we imagine check the description again a read it as it is

your post;
its saying that I should " give the input and textarea elements a 1px , solid border with a color of #0a0a23 ."

even the above sentence is miswriting the wright task description required is:

To make the input and textarea elements blend in with the background theme, set their (1)1background-color to #0a0a23 (background-color). (2)Then, give them a 1px,solidborder with a color of#0a0a23`(border)

input,textarea {
background-color: #0a0a23; =======this is done typing the color, however does not mean you shoud not type again in (border)
border: Read the excercise twice is asking for 2 tasks

input, textarea {
background-color: #0a0a23;
border: ‘1px’ ‘solid’ ‘#0a0a23’;
This is the code I got, but it still saying it’s wrong. Is this not how it’s supposed to be written? For the border, I wrote the 1px, then solid, & the color. This is what I’m being told.

Test: Sorry, your code does not pass. Keep trying.

Hint: You should give the input and textarea elements a background-color of #0a0a23.

hi there, don’t use quotes. If you are still stuck, use the Ask for Help button and open your own topic to discuss your code.

Thank you very much for that :slight_smile:
