Learn Introductory JavaScript by Building a Pyramid Generator - Step 21

Tell us what’s happening:

It keeps telling me to assign the value 10 to the third element on the rows array, but I already did that and I’m so confused

Your code so far

let character = 'Hello';
let count = 8;
let rows = ["Naomi", "Quincy", "CamperChan"];
console.log(rows[0]);

// User Editable Region

let rows = ["Naomi", "Quincy", "CamperChan"];
rows[2] = 10;
console.log(rows); // prints["Naomi", "Quincy", "10"]

// User Editable Region

Welcome to the forum @03evelyn.bierlein

The console log is showing a syntax error.

SyntaxError: unknown: Identifier ‘rows’ has already been declared. (8:4)
6 | // User Editable Region
7 |
8 | let rows = [“Naomi”, “Quincy”, “CamperChan”];
| ^
9 | rows[2] = 10;
10 | console.log(rows); // prints[“Naomi”, “Quincy”, “10”]
11 |

You can declare a variable using the let keyword only once.

Try removing line 8 from the editor.

Happy coding
