You want to check e.targat.value with a variable, or a string ?

Thanks for your reply , I changed to a string and it worked by this should be a variable . Why is the auto coder looking for a string ?

Because the e.target.value is from dropdown. As you know, different option gives different input to ur event listener.

You can console.log() it out if u are not sure what value is returned when different option is selected.
