Challenge: Learn More About CSS Pseudo Selectors By Building A Balance Sheet - Step 18

I can’t seem to figure out what’s wrong. It keeps saying that my tr element should have a td element as the first child.

The th elements should be found within td tags.

th stands for table header
tr stands for table row
td stands for table data

you are creating a row with a blank data spot and three headers

-data- . -header- . -header- . -header- .

each time you add td or th you are creating a column

It is often good to search up a tag list when introduced to new tags, this is what I use :smiley:

Do you mean all the elements should be in one tag or each should be nested in individual tags? If so, I tried both, didn’t work.

The ‘tr’ element is a parent element. Within its tags, it should be found three ‘th’ elements wrapped in ‘td’ tags:

<parent>
  <child>
     3 x table header element
  </child>
</parent>

Nevermind. I found the error. The tr and td elements were supposed to be nested within the thead element above. Thanks for your assistance.
