I’ve read some solutions on the forum and some say something like this

pattern = '.+[^a-z]'

And the console displays the entire string, but it still doesn’t work

Yeah, it works, but the [^a-z] is obsolete in the pattern. Test expects the whole pattern to consist just of the dot followed by the + quantifier.
