Learn Regular Expressions by Building a Password Generator - Step 47

Tell us what’s happening:

My code isn’t passing, I’ve tried various methods such as (special_chars, r’[^a-zA-Z0-9]‘),
(special_chars, r’[^a-zA-Z\d]') but nothing seems to work is there something else I’m missing?

Your code so far

import re
import secrets
import string

def generate_password(length, nums, special_chars, uppercase, lowercase):
    # Define the possible characters for the password
    letters = string.ascii_letters
    digits = string.digits
    symbols = string.punctuation

    # Combine all characters
    all_characters = letters + digits + symbols

    while True:
        password = ''
        # Generate password
        for _ in range(length):
            password += secrets.choice(all_characters)

/* User Editable Region */

        constraints = [
            (nums, r'\d'),
            (lowercase, r'[a-z]'),
            (uppercase, r'[A-Z]'),
            (special_chars, r'[^a-zA-Z0-9]')
        ]

/* User Editable Region */

    return password

# new_password = generate_password(8)
# print(new_password)

pattern = r'\.'
quote = 'Not all those who wander are lost.'
# print(re.findall(pattern, quote))

Hello Aymanisam,

The code you wrote passes for me.
Maybe you could try and reset the question and do it again?

Hmm, I reset the question twice and now it seems to work, thanks a lot!!
