Learn String Manipulation by Building a Cipher - Step 34

Tell us what’s happening:

I don’t understand replacing encrypted_text with new_char here.

Your code so far

/* User Editable Region */

text = 'Hello World'
shift = 3
alphabet = 'abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz'
encrypted_text + new_char

for char in text.lower():
    index = alphabet.find(char)
    new_index = index + shift
    new_char = alphabet[new_index]
    print('char:', char, 'new char:', new_char)
print(encrypted_text)

/* User Editable Region */

Hello Atabek,

They just want you to rename the new_char variable to encrypted_text because this new name makes a little bit more sense if you were to read the code.

Which variable should I change?

You have to change the new_char variable into encrypted_text.

Thanks for the reply.
