Now, replace new_char with encrypted_text . Also, modify the print() call into print('char:', char, 'encrypted text:', encrypted_text) to reflect this change.

Your code so far

text = ‘Hello World’
shift = 3
alphabet = ‘abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz’

for char in text.lower():
index = alphabet.find(char)
new_index = index + shift
new_char = alphabet[new_index]
print(‘char:’, char, ‘new char:’, new_char)

Hi @Moreom ,
Welcome to fCC community.

It appears you did the right thing.
Guess you should reset and try.

Let me know if this resolves it.
:+1: happy coding.

The string in the print call goes without an underscore, it’s there to print out “encrypted text” on the screen.
